Dr. Chiranjeev Kohli is Professor of Marketing at California State University Fullerton. He has received numerous awards and citations and in 2005, he was awarded the Best Professor Award from College of Business for Innovative Instruction. He received Best Professor Award from University’s Associated Students, Inc., in 2003, honored with the Business School’s Best Professor Award for 1998 / 1999, and Distinguished Faculty Award for 1999 / 2000. In January 2000, he was nominated for the Pattishall Award, sponsored by the Brand Names Education Foundation, for excellence in teaching trademark related topics; and in 1999, he was honored by the Young Presidents Organization of Southern California for excellence in academia. Dr. Kohli has been serving the university in various capacities including Chairman, Department Search Committee (2006-2007), Chairman Department Curriculum Committee (2003-2004) and has been the member of various Assessment, Personnel and Instructions committees from time to time. Dr. Kohli is a member of American Marketing Association, Academy of Marketing Science, United States Trademark Association & Beta-Gamma-Sigma Scholastic Honor Society. He is the founder principal of I.D.ENTITY, specializing in brand and corporate identity. His research has been reported in academic journals and newspapers including European Journal of Marketing, Harvard Business Review, Ivey Business Journal, Journal of Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Business Research, The Los Angeles Times and The Orange County Register. National Public Radio has also done a segment on his work. Dr. Kohli is particularly interested in teaching Marketing Strategy, Marketing Research, and Brand Management. Prior to joining Cal State Fullerton, he taught at Indiana University and since 1996 he is also associated with Fachhochschule Nurtingen, Germany for International Marketing Research, and has delivered many International Marketing Seminars. He has guided a large number of students in their projects in the areas of marketing strategy, brand management, new products marketing, and research. Dr Kohli’s research interests are in creation, measurement, and management of corporate and brand identity. Dr. Kohli has consulted for Autodesk, Bionutrics, Canon USA, Contact East Networking, Dean Health System, Odetics, Taco Bell, and Verizon among many medium and large size organizations. He has been invited as a keynote speaker to several organizations, and has been nominated to the American Marketing Association’s National Speakers Directory. He has offered several seminars in the United States, Germany, Hong Kong, and Sweden. Dr. Kohli holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Indiana University. His dissertation received honorable mention in the International Doctoral Dissertation Competition. He did his MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. A comedian by avocation, he won the Indiana University Comedy Competition and has opened for Dennis Miller of Saturday Night Live! Dr. Kohli has authored large number of publications and proceedings. He has also contributed to chapters in many books and has been the reviewer of a number of articles and publications in reputed journals.
